Our dogs are not just pets, they are part of our family, but when we think about family vacations, we often don’t consider taking our dogs with us. Logistically, traveling and lodging with your dog is difficult.
Even if your dog travels well in the car or is not bothered sitting in his carrier in the airplane’s cabin, hotels get tricky.
Many hotels and resorts are not set up for us to include our dogs, but that is all changing at select Disney World resorts. Disney has an affection heart for all things dog and starting October 15, 2017; your family can stay at select Orlando resorts with Fido.
Four of Disney’s resorts including the Art of Animation Resort, Port Orleans Riverside Resort, the Yacht Club Resort, and the cabins at Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort are all dog-friendly. Being dog-friendly doesn’t just mean your dog can stay in the room with you.
Being dog-friendly means dogs will get a complimentary Pluto’s Welcome Kit, which includes a mat, bowls, an ID tag, disposable bags, puppy pads, and dog walking maps. Guests with dogs stay on designated floors and access to greens and dog runs for exercise and relief.
The resorts also consider people who suffer from allergies and have dog-free floors and areas for those unfortunate individuals who can’t be around dogs. And if all the in-room amenities are not enough, the reports also offer doggy daycare through a partnership with Best Friends Pet Care. If the family wants to spend the day exploring the parks or take an excursion off-site, they will not have to worry about leaving their dog behind in the room.
The Best Friends Pet Care on site at Disney offers grooming, plenty of space for playing, and lots of TLC from certified Doggy Day Camp counselors that will give your pet extra love and attention while you’re away.
More and more, we recognize our pets as a part of the family and want to provide safe, fun environments for them to thrive. Going on vacation doesn’t have to mean excluded your pets from the family and leaving them in the care of a neighbor or at a boarding facility. There are options for pet lovers.
